**Alert** Telephone scam
It would appear there is a telephone scam where some of our patients have received a recorded message stating they have a message from their Doctor's surgery and to retrieve this message they need to enter their date of birth. Please note this message IS NOT FROM THE AVON MEDICAL CENTRE/CANDER CENTE. We will never sent an automated voice message.
ON THE DAY TRIAGE
As of 4th September 2017 all appointments requested for the same day will be triaged by our Nurse Practitioner or GP. The trained receptionists will take your details and ask for a brief reason as to why you feel you need seen the same day. Your information will be passed to a clinician who will then call you back. Please ensure we have the correct contact details for you. We hope this will ease the journey of the patients who need medical assistance on the day, creating a more efficient and effective patient service.

The above numbers have replaced the 08444 number and will be charged at your telephone suppliers rate for a local call.

ONLINE PRESCRIPTIONS/BOOKING APPOINTMENTS
now available. Please present in person at the surgery with photographic ID to register.
Extended hours appointments available
We now offer appointments out with our normal surgery hours. These are available some week days (before 8am) and on Saturdays with GPs and Nurse Practitioner. Please ask reception for further details.
As of 1st January 2013 we are also able to offer telephone consultations, where appropriate, with a Doctor or Nurse. This is for the convenience of patients. However, the choice is yours and you can still make an ordinary appointment whenever you wish.
We would ask you to cooperate with reception staff if requesting a telephone consultation as they may require to ask some important information to determine if a telephone consultation is appropriate.
Please do not hesitate to ask at reception for further information.
All mail being sent from the practice will now have the return address on the franking label. This is to ensure the safe return of any undelivered mail.
Please note: the practice name will NOT be included as part of the address to avoid any breach of patient confidentiality.
